Traceroute & Ping

I read somewhere that someone had 30 odd hops and I only had 4. I decided to redo this task. Now I understand a little more, the difference between Traceroute & Ping. Traceroute traces the routes the packet takes to reach the different hosts.

The output from my Traceroute to curtin.edu.au and this time I got 18 hops.

Outcome anb reflections

Well, not too sure what to think. I have use the A-tool successfully. I am not sure when I will be needing such information. If I had to I could.

Outcome & reflections

I use the Trace option and the output shows only the 'to' IP, time to the host and that it. My previous output from the dos command was more informative. I may have missed the Traceroute option does not seem to be available on the A-Tool.
